Sky have today announced that they will be gearing up some of their content to be VR ready. The television giant clearly doesn’t want to be left behind in the biggest technological transition of 2016 and has promised that we’ll see at least 20 pieces of Virtual Reality content this year.

We’ll be seeing the first piece of Sky’s VR content as soon as this friday. Tech-savvy users will have the opportunity to be directly in the pit for some Formula 1 testing in Barcelona (or as close as possible from the comfort of your living room). This is going to be a great way for Sky to kick off their VR campaign and promises to be a thrilling experience.

Sky has dug it’s claws into the virtual reality market since they invested in Jaunt Vr in september last year. Since then they’ve hit the ground running in preparation for the big change in how we view and access digital content.

The real big announcement from Sky was the creation of ‘Sky VR Studio’ which is a dedicated virtual reality production unit. Exciting times are ahead!
