If you’re a fan of the Call of Duty franchise then one title will stand out in particular above the rest, Modern Warfare. It’s release was a real turning point for the franchise, and propelled it forward to becoming a household name. At this point COD got recognition from girlfriends all over the world as the reason their boyfriend was unresponsive for hours on end, receiving the same sort of hatred from women as the Fifa franchise and Pro Evo before it (RIP).
It’s been nearly a decade since we saw the initial release and camping was invented in the depths of ‘overgrown‘. We’ve seen many titles follow in the franchise but maybe not any that have resonated with us in the same way as Modern Warfare 1 & 2. Luckily for us, it seems like this has been recognised, so in addition to Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (which is to be officially announced soon), we might be seeing a remastered version of Modern Warfare 4.
The information comes from a photo that has been posted to the the Infinite Warfare subreddit. The photo was of a reservation card from target (an american retailer) displaying a “Legacy Edition” of Infinite Warfare that includes a remastered version of the Modern Warfare classic. Imagine being able to battle it out on maps like ‘crossfire’ or ‘crash’ but with better graphics and quicker loading time on your Xbox One or PS4.
The news was officially confirmed on twitter yesterday with the use of the poo emoji. (yes, you read that right):
We don’t have any information as to whether you will be able to buy this independently of Infinite Warfare at this moment in time, but we’re sure that more information will be revealed at this year’s E3 gaming conference. In the mean time we’re going to be playing Black Ops III to make sure we’re the sharpest shooters come release day!
We’ll be keeping you updated on this as it happens @VRandstuff
